Tonight Kenzie got to be a "model" for a local photographer. We had soo much fun at her session. Mackenzie is not what you would call a "shy" child. I am really glad because when I was her age I was painfully shy.
I love the art behind photography. Tasha (the photographer) has such a keen eye for the smallest elements that really make a photo.
We did our photo shoot in downtown Cape Girardeau. If you have ever been to Cape you will understand the endless photo ops that are down there. We took several shots on an old rusted set of fire escape stairs. It was a really neat backdrop. Then we moved on to and old alley and took several unique shots there. Of course the HIGHLIGHT of the even was when Kenzie got to pose with "Bunny" her very loved and very worn stuffed pink rabbit. It was given to her by my grandmother who is now in the last stages of Alzheimer's. Bunny and Kenzie are one of the few things she can consistently remember every time we talk with her about them. I am hoping that we will be able to get the perfect shot so we can give it to her to hang near her rocking chair. This will be one of those lasting memories that only a gifted photographer could capture. I am so thankful that Tasha wanted to use Kenzie Grace for her little model. I hope her talents really shine thru and it helps to grow her business because she is truly talented and so very sweet!
Here is the link to her website. She is supposed to get all of the photos posted on it tomorrow. I do have some of them tagged on my Facebook page. If you aren't on my friends list you need to be!!

Hey Nicole, I'm sure you remember me - right??
ReplyDeleteYour children are amazing and Mike & I are thrilled to see you are staying home to raise them yourself - what a concept huh! I know your folks miss you all like crazy, and hope they get to see you during the summer break, which is coming too quickly to an end.
I went to Natasha's site and saw Kenzie's photos - truly a work of art! You've found a great photographer, but she had a fantastic model without a doubt.
One thing I find odd is I don't recall you being shy. When was that? LOL
Nice to see you are blogging, and look forward to more. Tell your mom and dad hello for us!
Mike & Ruth
LOL well I was shy around people I didn't know does that count?..lol
ReplyDeleteI have been at home with them since day one..took a short break when we moved back to West Plains from St.Louis when I decided to help mom out at her school. The kids were all enrolled there so I got to be with them everyday for the most part anyways..but when we moved back to Jackson, Mo. I went back to my favorite job of being at home with them. I am so sad they will all be in school this year. We are actually visiting mom right now in West Plains..dad is in Alaska working until October..we have missed him so much he has been gone since April! So glad we all are getting to re-connect online..aww the power of the internet :0)
